The Horological Brothers Bart and Tim Grönefeld were elated to receive a second prestigious GPHG prize. This time for their 1941 Remontoire at the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in the “men’s watch” category.
Two year ago we have been on the same stage. In 2014 we’ve won the GPHG “Tourbillon” award for our Parallax Flying Tourbillon.
The GPHG is considered the "Oscars of Watchmaking" and was held in Geneva, Switzerland on November 10th, 2016. More than 1,500 guests attended the red-carpet gala ceremony.
Presented at Baselworld earlier this year, the Grönefeld 1941 Remontoire features an eight seconds constant force mechanism, ensuring the force serving the balance wheel does not wane. From the mainspring being fully wound to the last minute of the power reserve, the force never fluctuates. The result is that the amplitude and rate remain consistent, leading to superior precision.
Decorating all parts by hand is extremely time-consuming. Therefore production is limited to only 188 Remontoire movements, each with its own unique serial number, offered in a choice of case material and dial variants.
